This tracker uses official Irish Government data. Historic figures are only added where they can be verified against official records. Where a figure has not yet been verified, it is not included.

Figures are drawn from sources including the Revenue Commissioners, the Department of Finance and, where required, official Irish Government historical financial records. Each figure in the underlying dataset records the official source it was taken from.

Figures are shown in nominal terms unless otherwise stated.

Capital Acquisitions Tax includes taxes arising from inheritances and gifts as well as certain other CAT charges. Inheritance Tax and Gift Tax are shown separately only for years where Revenue has published that breakdown.

The data is checked against official Revenue Commissioners publications every week. New figures are only added when the official source clearly supports them.
